MJ Films is an independent production company founded in 2020 in New Brunswick, Canada by Maja Jacob. Its main focus is to develop and produce narrative feature films and scripted television series with an emphasis on character driven stories and international appeal. The production company currently has several projects in development with Telefilm Canada and the New Brunswick Film & Television incentive program.

Over the past 20 years, Maja has worked on film sets and post-production facilities in Vancouver, Toronto and Moncton. Her passion for filmmaking has shifted to writing and producing, breaking out with her first feature film IN GOD I TRUST. The film went on to screen at several film festivals around the world, winning numerous awards and signed two distribution deals with Game Theory Films (Canada) and Gravitas Ventures (USA/Worldwide). Maja was selected to participate in the National Screen Institute (NSI) 2022 Business for Producers - Atlantic Women’s Edition as well as the 2023 Rotterdam Producers Lab and the EFM Producers Without Borders program at the Berlin International Film Festival. She is a Directors Guild of Canada member as a Director and Editor.
